Activities

Ruled by the gorgeous Torre and Fitz Roy mounts, and surrounded by rivers, valleys, lakes and glaciers, El Chalt�n is the ideal place to do different activities such us trekking, climbing, horse-riding, sailing or just sit and gaze admiringly at such endless beautiful landscape, which seems impossible to put it into words.

Trekking

Torre Lake
(3 hour trek, low difficulty)

You can reach it by going through a �ire and lenga wood, skirting round Fitz Roy River and passing by lookouts with magnificent views. From the lake you can see the Torre mountain range and its glaciers)

Laguna de los Tres (Fitz Roy mount)
(4 hour trek, medium difficulty)

This path skirts round the Rio de las Vueltas and leads into the wood, passes by Laguna de los Patos up to Rio Blanco bridge. From there on, the last 45� ascent starts, up to a gorgeous view of the Fitz Roy mountain range, Laguna Sucia and Laguna de los Tres and their glaciers.

Chorrillo del Salto
(1hour trek, easy)

This one- hour trek starts right from the town, through N�23 National Road, up to a hidden waterfall.

Loma del Pliegue Tumbado
(4 hour trek, medium difficulty)

From that hill you can see the Fitz Roy and the Torre mounts together.

Glaciar Piedras Blancas
(3, 40�trek, low difficulty)

This path skirts round Rio de las Vueltas and leads into the wood, passes by Laguna de los Patos up to Rio Blanco bridge. From there on, there is a 40� trek skirting round the river and walking on some huge stones in order to see the glacier and its lake.

Viedma Lake Sailing
Optional: Trek over the glaciar – Ice caves.

Torre Glaciar Trekking
(12 hour trek, combined, medium difficulty)

The activity on the glaciar is basically a glaciar trek, with some ice climbing. The trek on the glacier takes about 3 hours and its objective is one of the most wonderful views of the Patagonia: the Torre mount, Egger and Standhard peaks. Unlosable.

Horse-ridings

You can go through the National Park paths on horse with a skilled guide. This is a good option for those who don�t like walking that much, o for those who just enjoy riding in an imposing landscape.
